Default New Products

Local dealer informed that Meridian had obsoleted all but the G68SL/G61R processor.

A check at their website confirmed that the CD & DVD transport/players are no longer available in the G Series. The 800V4 DVD was also dropped.

Is Meridian coming out with a new range of Bluray Multi Format players? Hmmm really wondering.

Anyone had news to share?

I am afraid they have been dropping many of their product lines recently. They have stopped making any of their amplifiers, DVD's and are now dropping some of their processors and CD players.
I have heard they are on financial problems as well. It's a shame such a pioneer of the digital age is loosing direction. I truly loved their products.

I hope it is just us being critical and that M is not truly lost!

Personally I don't have a problem on them concentrating on digital sources / servers and active speakers. Their amps were always a little bit of a distraction but they should maintain digital front ends imho.

At least the mighty 808 v3 cd player is still in the catalogue. But it's true, none of the G series cd players remain.

IMHO they are focusing. Who buys a G series CD player today? Client/Server/Streaming is where the buying goes on. The MS600 is the replacement to the G series CD player performance.

There was alot of different G series version before G61SL/G68SL and this focus was made back in 2010.

This is a step in the right direction. They should be delivering their core values.

Physical media is not the trend or what most consumers want. This doesn't mean physical media is "Dead."

I would be very happy to see a Kaleidescape like offering, yet, with the legal fight over streaming Blu-ray content I think there is roadblock. Meridian to acquire Kaleidescape? Yeah keep dreamin'
