What is the light bass and heavy bass version means? Why should I be aware of when buying used? This may be my first used headphones. Thank you for your help.

Personally, I would not sweat this light/heavy bass detail - it's the first I've heard about it (not that it couldn't be something real.) Alberto |

I use a pair of K1000's with my MC2102. I have no issues with getting excellent bass from them. You have to find the correct position from the ear. This is done by swinging the ear speakers too and away from the ear. Once you find the position you can use the slide lock to keep them in place so they are there the next time you put them on. If I have not listened for sometime I do notice the pads on the temples after a couple of albums. After a few nights of listening to them in a row I no longer notice the pads.
I like the K1000's so much I would like to get a second pair. I wish AKG would reissue, or come out with a new generation. |

After some serious thoughts on these, I decided not to get a pair at this time. I am not comfortable with spending top dollars on a product that is no longer avaliable and may be hard to repair if needed. I have the HD800 & and few other top headphones so I'm okay for now. I hope AKG will bring back the K1000 or make something as good in the future.
