Suggested retail is $14.000 and it will start shipping next month. I have heard rumor of a matching Ref Phono coming soon. Looks a lot like the G series. I wonder how my Ref 5se will fair against it.

No mention of the caps. Is it still Teflon like the 40th/5SE or the new golden coloured ones in the Ref 10? I imagine the latter.

Will it outperform the 40? The literature suggests no?

Perfect timing REF6 with GS150 looks like a nice matching pair.

I would suggest no because of the power supply alone.

  • Three fewer SE/Bal inputs on the REF 6 than the REF 5/SE and those are no longer labeled with component names.
  • Front has GS-similar Italian styling.
  • Side wall thickness on the REF6 looks more like the REF10.
  • Tough to tell but the acrylic top on the 6 might be a tad thicker???
  • Feet look the same.
  • DB9 input on REF6

I noticed that too. I like the look. I love the price. I'll be testing one out. Already asked my dealer to get me a demo unit.
