Default 10,000th day of the Internet

The world wide web is still in its infancy but through its public release and overwhelming adoption in our daily lives, there has been a tremendous impact around the world.

On March 12, 1989 Tim Berners-Lee submitted a proposal for a distributed information system at CERN that later became what we know now as the World Wide Web. That makes today, Thursday, July 28, 2016 the 10,000th day of the Internet.

David.......I have to mark the calendar. At my age I can't remember what I had for dinner two days ago.

A little clarification is in order. The Internet has been around since the early 1960's. The worldwide web was created in 1989.

Man, what the heck would we do without Berners-Lee? Don't know if anyone has read it, but Walter Isaacson's book The Innovators is a good read.....gives a nice history of computers up through the digital age. Covers a good bit of the original ARPANET and how it became the backbone of the intermet. Pretty interesting book.

Wow, 10,000 days. I had a computer before then but I've been on the world wide web since '92 when AOL was in it's infancy. My my how time flies.
