For much of the world that will be 11-10-12 so they will wait 'till next month for 10-11-12. So we can have it twice.

The "end of the world" happens on a plus /minus 500 year cycle and has happened at least five times since they developed that calendar.

I use the ISO 8601 date notation.

Today is 2012-10-11. NOTHING SPECIAL!

The other notations should all be gently put to rest and never seen again.
