The build quality of the chassis and anxillary parts have gone south IMO - their chassis thicknesses are now thinner when compared to their models made up to the start of this decade (Ref75. 150 250, 5SE). They are also using cheaper looking shorter binding posts. The tan coloured PCB boards were also thicker and not as flexible as their current green coloured PCBs.

Having said that, their sonics have vastly improved over their past products. I just hate their looks.
Pick up a ref150, then a gs150. The gs is more rigid and heavier. The gs chassis is a work of art from a craftsmanship perspective. Believe me, I've carried them both more than I wanted to!

I think the GS150 will become a collector item. It is an incredible amp. Unfortunately it didn’t handle the new Alexia 2’s very well which made me switch to Pass xa100.8’s. I just can’t bring myself to sell the GS150.

Curious. Did you run the GS150 on the ARC suggested 8 ohm tap?

I am, with my Alexia ones, with great results.... Seems like the twos should be similar?

You are correct. Alexia 2 is easier to drive than Alexia.

Both should be on the 8 ohm tap.

Yes did use the 8 ohm tape, while the Alexia 2’s are easier to drive they are less efficient. The GS150 couldn’t control the lower end to my satisfaction. It did work spectacularly well with the Alexia 1’s.
