I have seen very nice listening chairs in other threads, but no thread specifically dedicated to members sharing listening chairs, couches, sofas, loungers, or whatever you may enjoy while you listen. I am curious what all members have out there.

I’ve been gradually setting up my listening room over the last year or so. I’ve been so focused on the equipment, that my back side got short shrift. I was sitting on an uncomfortable chaise lounge by Basset, found on clearance. My wife thought it was lovely. It looked ok, but it was never comfortable. Well, either I was too upright with no upper back support, or laying back, with arched back, feeling the frame of the lounge under the cushions. Ergonomics were all wrong for listening. It was passable for a time, because the music has been all good. My wife picked it for the room, because it was her idea of what would look good. Fortunately, beyond being uncomfortable, it just has not held up well.

I had hinted to the wife over and over again that I was going to need something new. She was hesitant, because everything that passed my sit test did not pass her style test. Well, we were out the other day, and she said “what about this for you to listen to music?” Looked good. I sat, and it felt good. Now I have a new Lane Skylar brown leather electric recliner, and am very happy. Dicscomfort in other parts of my body are no longer distracting me from the music.

Show us your listening chair!... or chairs!

Best,
Shrinky

This is what I currently use, it was a chair we’ve had for some time. It’s been in many rooms in the house, I would like to replace it but the space/room is small therefore I need a somewhat compact chair. But I’m not compact myself @ 6ft and 280 lbs.

Hello. Everyone has posted great chairs that meets your individual comfort and listening needs. I will chime in with my story and chairs for the thread. The chairs are by Zuri Furniture, the Winston model. I was seeking a comfortable chair, yet firm and durable. I am a early morning person and by the time I get home for the day and listen, I can get quite sleepy. The firmness assists me to hold on for a few more hours. I have Focal Sopra #3 speakers and prefer to sit at ear level with the tweeter if at all possible. With the Winston, I sit at ear level with the tweeters on my Sopra #3's. I am 70" tall. Comfortable and at the same time enough firmness in that you do not sink. Also a nice amount of weight and do not feel flimsy. I also have a pair of ottomans from the same manufacturer. One additional funny if you will. If anyone has followed my postings, you can see that I am a science fiction enthusiast. The next model upgrade by Zuri Furniture from the Winston is called the Darth and is larger, darker, and almost “menacing” in its presentation. Well you could imagine that this chair has my name on it with the exception of one major drawback... Too soft and therefore I would be sleeping as if Vader himself placed a force choke on me like he did to Admiral Motti. Anyway the below photos will show my setup of chairs and the last photo a picture of the Darth. One final comment is the durability of these chairs. I have had them for 2 years and there is no significant wear whatsoever and I posted a picture next to the current Stereophile magazine to document such a claim...

Darth...

Regards

The main listening chair, an Ekornes Stressless with adjustable headrest and powered footrest.

And this from Pottery Barn for headphone listening. Not a recliner, but swivels and is very comfortable.

David.......I have fallen asleep sitting up and laying down on that comfy couch many times. Not hard to do when the music relaxes you to that state of mind. Sometimes I don't even know I fell asleep until I wake up.
