Default Euro2016

The opening ceremony was short and quite attractive.
And now: let's play!

Default France-Romania opening match.

France will have to be careful.
The Romanians were already dangerous.

Soccer. Hmm. I can't recall another sport where the top athletes fake, pretend, moan, trip and cheat in the same extent as in soccer. Have a look at Youtube and you have hours of material to laugh at. They are a disgrace to all the kids who have them as idols. And is there another sport where its "supporters" have abused, beaten and killed more people that the soccer supporters? Sorry but I don´t feel connected with the players nor the supporters – they simply don't represent the values that I stand for.

In my little country (11 million inhabitants), soccer means a lot.
Every weekend, many hundred thousands of people play it or go and see a match.
In a lot small villages, it is the only sport accessible to children, especially when they don't belong to the upper class (money wise).
Everywhere where large crowds are involved, you can have trouble.
But here, and I believe the same goes for most countries in Europe, it is above all a good introduction to sports for kids, where they can learn team spirit.
Football as we call it here can be a feast for the eye and the human heart.
Let us hope this championship will be a great example of that!

Disclaimer: I never liked to play soccer. Athletics is my sport. But I played it like every boy on the school's playground.

It was close, but Payet scored a wonderful goal.
Good start for the hosts.

The Euro should be long enough for a discussion between Soccer and Football / concussion sport that no one wants to talk about like the elephant in the room.

I'm just very happy to see teens and teenagers play soccer behind where I live, seeing them run, dribble and lose weight naturally instead of watching TV, video games or on their cell phone on all day long.
I like baseball, football and many other sport but especially soccer because it brings the whole world together cheering ! Did I mention it also lets children lose weight naturally in a world that is pushing sugar, fast food and couch potatoes ?

Allez Les Bleus !!!!
