Glad to hear they will accept Bannana's. I was partially sure they would but not sure enough to plan my speaker cable purchase around the assumption.

It's a damn shame that I need to buy more cables for these speakers though since they don't have Bi-Wire capability. All the stuff I got laying around is all Bi-Wire/ Bi-Amp specific which I used on my B&W's.

We all have to have our priorities set. Enjoy your new Magico speakers while chowing down on that mac and cheese!

Well that was painful this Saturday...running my credit card for such a large amount of money. It is almost as much as a new car. If in fact it was one, then I would have driven it home and parked in the driveway but I have to wait 4 to 8 weeks for the S3 to be built and delivered (so I have been told). Come one Santa, I have been nice. I will make a deal with you. You bring them before the holidays and I won't make you go down the chimney. You can come through the front door, have a beer and then you can go on your way. After all it is for the children. :-)

Congrats on the new speaker purchase. I feel your pain in terms of money and wait time. I've got about a 3 week lead on you and hope to have mine in about 3 more weeks from now (if I'm lucky).

I'm curious what amp you will be using to power your S3's? I was about a day away from purchasing a Pass Labs XA100.5 and then got cold feet. I just couldn't get past that amp possibly not having enough power to properly drive the speaker.

To remedy that concern I instead went in a totally different direction in terms of power and purchased a pair of Merrill Audio Veritas Mono Blocks. I think 700 @4ohm and 1200 @2ohm will cover it

Default Amped Up

I recently sold my Parasound A21 and bought a recently released PS Audio BHK Signature 250 Amp. That is the good news. Now the bad news... I am in the process of returning it because of ground loop feedback /white noise issue. The amp is defective and the problem doesn't lie with electrical issues with my other equipment. Now back to the good news, I have been working with PS Audio and they have been nothing but amazing in how they have stepped up with a willingness to get this problem fixed. They are going to build a new amp and basically hand deliver it to me. I have to follow-up with them on Monday to see what the expected ship date will be. Fingers crossed that I am not being led down the primrose path and PS Audio keeps their word.

Some option amp to consider is the BSC M5 for big room and S5 for the smaller room. It sound more organic than the Passlab IMO.

Default Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

The latest word from PS Audio is that my replacement amp shipped today amd may make to me by the weekend. I looked at the BSC M5 but I needed something small enough to fit in my audio rack and I want a 2 channel amp vs mono. I don't have that much room to put large mono-blocks on the floor. So once all this amp drama is over with, I can wait patiently for the S3s arrive. I better add them to my will as I don't want the kids to fight over them when I am gone. :-)

Maybe u can consider the BSC S5. Even it is only 75w per channel 8 ohm, it double to 150w when use with the Magico s3. The amp is interesting that u can play them in pure class A for maximum enjoying, class AB high bias in none critical listening and very economical class AB in background music. These technologies can only found in other very expensive gryphon amps.

PS Audio BHK 250 arrived a couple of weeks ago and all is well. It has been 4 weeks since I placed an order for the S3s. I guess I have another 4 weeks to go.

I would say your estimated time of arrival for the S3 is probably spot on. This past week was the 6 week mark for me. Now going on week 7 with only 2 weeks left in the year.

I'll be pretty Salty if I dont get a call from the dealer this week or very early next week. I NEED to see these speakers in my room before years end
