Streaming: wireless or wired

Hello friends.

Been awhile since my last post...hope all is well with everyone.

For those of you who stream your music, does the sound quality improve if connection from router to computer is wired rather then wireless?

I do live in an area where with stable wireless speed around/greater than 75 mps.

My experience with streaming has been that you either get a clean signal or you don't. When the signal is weak you will hear clicks or no sound to me that is bad sound quality.

Your biggest issue is when streaming high-definition material that require a lot of bandwidth. That is when a weak wireless connection is likely to let you down. Also, you may experience difficulties if others in your household are streaming HD movies wirelessly using the same network. Again, these are a function of bandwidth. If you have a fast enough connection, you may never experience any problems.

I have CAT5e wired throughout my house, and use Gb Ethernet wherever I stream. 100MB per second guarantees that I wont have any issues with bandwidth, and wireless, no matter how fast the connection, can have issues with interference and drop outs, no matter how fast the connection.

I've not done anything besides totally hardwired since I dropped the Sono wireless package and implemented CAT IV with a hard wired network in my system.

I've not had any dropouts, bandwidth issues or noise in the circuits since.

No problems with either scenario. Xfinity Blast at 200mbps.

Much better sq with a wired connection in my experience. I have an old house where that is difficult logistically, but I’d send a wire into every room if I could.

I have Xfinity Blast, but still have all of mine hard wired.

I am using Apple AirPort Extreme over AC from the office to the living room 2 channel system and have no issues at all. I have recently received a price to run Cat 7 cable but I may not based on how well I am doing.

Ditto. I ran Blue Jeans Cat6A to every room in the house so wifi is only used for surfing. No issues.

There was an audioquest rep at my local dealer who swears hard wired will yield better results.
