Strange, but true. in my application Martin Logan Montis provide better bass and overall sound than Magico S5, but this is what I have3 expected. S5 is a transparent audiophile speakers that will shine only when driven by first rate electronics and cables. In my setup for surround sound the S5 was just too flat, bass shy. although I heard improvement over old surrounds in clarity and transparency, but I don't think that justify the cost. I think I better get a pair of Montis, EFX, Balance Force 212 to use in my system. Proceed HPA3 had no problem driving Montis via 15 meters of 16AWG cables.
I will spend a few days to set position and bass level of Montis before returning them, S5 were packed and returned already.

Your room size could probably handle more Q7s for surrounds!

CLEE
I am planning for a pair of Martin Logan Balance force 212. And may be Ethos as side channel, FX2 as back channel.
One thing for sure, Martin Logan Montis has very narrow dispersion pattern, panel just aim directly to ear. But transparency
Is way beyond my old Def Tech BP2000, and on the same level as S5 in this application.
