Problem w/SP-16
When playing records or CD occasionally I'll suddenly get static then a pop from my right speaker and then the speaker goes dead. I turn off the SP-16 and then restart it the unit is fine. Driving me crazy what could this be??

Forte4A.......The Audio Research SP-16 is about 14 years old. It uses six 12AX7 tubes. It is quite possible it is time to replace all six tubes. Even though your issue seems to be in the right channel, I would consider a fresh set of tubes as a first step to solving the problem. If it were my SP-16, I'd install six new Gold Lion ECC83/B759 (12AX7) gold pin tubes.

Another suggestion would be to get a can of compressed air and blow out any dust inside the case.
