Dan, based on what their claiming, it has nothing to do with the 60Hz cycle, it is the fact that the AC wave can be "flat topped" or "clipped"? They rebuild the top/peak from reserve which would actually increase the charge since the peak is now higher... By the way, I personally don't use MultiWave.

The answer lies in a little understanding. The harmonics we work so hard to get rid of are not, in themselves, a problem. What causes the harmonics in the first place is. When the AC sine wave is "flat topped" meaning the peak of the AC sine wave has been cut off by too many users on the AC line (a common problem) this causes harmonics and we measure them and display it for you.

To fix this problem, we add the missing energy back into the AC and replace the flat top sine wave with a perfect form that is harmonic free. So it isn’t the harmonics generated that are bad, they are just an indication of the problem of flat topping. The real problem is the missing energy used to charge your equipment - which the PPP handles by rebuilding new power.

Now, with MultiWave, we actually create more energy by extending the charging time of the peak of the sine wave once we replace the missing energy. We do this by adding in a bit of pure third harmonic - but the key here is it’s full energy - there’s nothing missing in the sine wave.

Ivan.......Based on what you said, that your PPP's were all switched to MultiWave, I tried the MultiWave setting this afternoon. Initially I didn't think I heard any difference. I spent about two hours listening, 15 minutes in, 15 minutes out. It wasn't until I was playing the SACD, Spyro Gyra - Wrapped In A Dream that my ear caught a difference. Switching from MultiWave to sine wave I detected a very minor flattening of the dynamic peaks in the music. It was almost inperceptible, and not as easily detected when turning MultiWave on, as turning MultiWave off after having listened for awhile. I haven't decided which way works for me yet. I am still waiting on additional discussion.

Yes, you nailed it, although it is more prevalent on my system. I spoke to Ryan today, he will try & post a response here tomorrow. He did comment what an unbelievably good crowd we have, but we already know that.

Harold.......One of the things I have learned through my 40+ years tinkering with audio, improvements in sound are not always easily explained, but more often than not, these improvements are definately audible. Even though I don't always grasp the engineering, or theory, my skepticism has been put out to pasture more than once after a serious audition.

Amen to that. Nothing like living with your speakers for a while then trying a serious cable and sitting there with you jaw to the floor as your whole system is transformed and as if someone switched out your speakers for something else.... All too often, the skepticism is our worst enemy that prevents us from reaping the rewards of high end audio we paid through the nose for....
