Sorry to rekindle and old thread, however the Cx-7e is on the short list of candidates for my new CD player.
Depending on my budget: High - Ayre Cx-5e or Audio Research CD-5 Low - Ayre CX-7e or SimAudio Moon 360D. |

The CX-7 is still an excellent redbook player with great sound. I think for the money it is a good value. If I didn't want a SACD player I would probably not have made the switch. If you can audition your short list, that would be the best case. Good luck!

AudioPhilio,
I appreciate your comments. At this stage I plan to audition a CX-7eMP and McIntosh MDC301. |

Has anybody sent their CX-7e to Ayre for the MP upgrade? How has the sound of the CD player changed with the addition of the MP filter? Thanks.
