Hi,
Could you elaborate the reasons that make you switch to c2600? I am looking to add a Mac preamp, so appreciate you sharing your experience with the C52 vs. C2600.
Thanks.

I have heard McIntosh C2600 and I did not like it. Sound was too warm. C52 sounds brighter. I have not heard C1100, but hopefully it is somewhere in the middle. Not too warm and not too bright.

Thanks. I plan to audition all 3 preamps later this year, ideally with B&W 802D3. Mac has recently released the C49 which is interesting with the upgradable Digital/DAC. I hope MacIntosh will release same design for other SS (C52) and tubes preamps (C2600).

The c52/53 and the 462 is a great pairing. I have the c52/462 and couldn’t be happier.
Warm/Bright? With the 8 band equalizer adjust it how you like it. Sounds perfect flat, but on some poor recordings I do add some bass.

Led Zepplin has never sounded better. Plays Whole Lott’s Love with that huge dynamic range effortlessly. The guitars are so clear that you can actually hear the individual notes.

Rickie Lee Jones ??? I can finally understand what the lyrics actually are!!!

Just wondering how this combination worked for you. I take it that you already had the C47. How do you like it?

I like the C47. It works well with my MCT450. It works well in pass through with my MX121. The C47 is a very good stereo preamp if you do not want to get a tube preamp. Very basic bass and treble controls and excellent phono stage. I will not be shopping for a preamp for a long time. 🎶🎶

Glad to hear. I"m also enjoying my C47 paired with MC601s.
