If you are NOT bi-wiring your 802 D3s, have you replaced the factory supplied jumpers ? If so, what are you using and do they "match" your speaker cables (silver, copper, etc ) ? Also are you attaching speakers to high frequency terminals and jumping to low ?

The new D3 is much more coherent and able to throw a more dimensional sound stage. The vocals are more realistic and almost palpable with good recordings. The bass is so much tighter and cleaner overall and does not muddy the midrange. There was a considerable improvement in the bass just moving from the N802 to the 802D2, but the D3 is in a different league. The treble is very smooth and realistic sounding. I believe the 802D3 is destined to be a Classic. These will be my last speakers. Enjoy them. |

The best really noticable result was connecting the positive/red connector to the low-frequency and the negative/black to the high-frequency terminals. Try it! On LF: Best bass, trebles bit shy. On HF: Great highs, Bass thinner. Red HF, black LF: Nice overall, but the room was strange. Red LF, black HF: Best overall result with great soundstage.

Jorg,
Would love to know how a turntable survives when there is lots of very low end bass. 30hz and below. |
