I have heard a 1000 USD turntable deliver more nerve, presence and groove than a 25000 USD digital MSB set up when playing side by side in a 500.000 USD system.
If "prefect" was the answer to the ultimate enjoyment we'd all be married to a mannequin :-).
I guess I am attracted to the beauty of the imperfection in the analog domain. I do play digital side by side with my vinyl and enjoy it every time. But for me the goose bumps seems to prefer the analog presentation.

A few years ago the answer to this was a no-brained for me. Now, for me, it’s like asking if bourbon is better than scotch, or Cabernet vs Pinot. It depends on who made, how it was made, what I’m eating, my mood...

I am strictly 95% vinyl, really 100% when listening seriously, but have started researching Hi Rez digital. I am missing out on some music I would like to hear in my rig, that is my chief motivation.

I have been putting this off because in my experience there has been no comparison between the two but I have not invested in digital since the 90’s (see my system). Reluctant also because at audio shows, B&M, I can spot digital a mile away when I hear it, it just does not breathe life like vinyl. It sounds great for a while but then becomes “boring.”

I cannot invest at the level I have on my analog rig right now....so we shall see! Certainly want excellent SQ or it will have been for nothing.
