Since I haven't compared them directly, this is purely speculation, but having used Kimber BiFocal XL (the biwire version of Monocle) with Maggie 1.6QR's in a previous setup--where they performed very well--I don't think, given what Dan heard as indicated in his detailed and comprehensive review, the Monocle XL's would run even close to the SE6's.

There's another issue here that may be pertinent but hasn't been addressed, namely the synergy achieved between interconnects and speaker cables that share the same developmental bloodline versus that of those that don't. It's possible that the 8TC's might have sounded "better" in Dan's shootout had they been mated with equivalent-quality IC's out of Ray Kimber's shop. Having said that, my own mini-shootout between the relatively inexpensive WW copper Equinox 6 IC's and two breeds of Kimber silver-copper hybrids (one of which, the KS-1020, is admittedly an older version) left no doubt of the WW's sonic superiority...and in a speaker-cable-neutral environment, since what currently feeds my Paradigms is Blue Jeans-sourced Belden (a situation I'm working on assiduously with a sharpened pencil to correct).

Wow, that good you say, including the likes of the 4AG, 8AG, 3035, 3038, 6065, 6068. You sir may very well have changed my future plans with that statement.

I wish my cable upgrade hadn't been put on hold because I would now love to get an in home demo, which you have graciously offered a while back but I don't feel right doing that at the moment knowing I would not be buying until well into next year.

Thanks,

Rod

Another testament to WW compared to the Kimber Select line, hmm, I'm noticing a real trend here

I carry about 8 cables lines and sell WW 50-1 (approx) they all have around the same margin; so there's no reason to not "Tell it Like it Is"

When you become a Subscriber you can then get free in-home trials, and serious discounts on purchases; or not.

Thanks,

So are the in-home demos of cables restricted to certain manufacturers or open to all manufacturers you are a dealer for? For return shipping, is the box you send the cables in able to be re-used for the return trip or do I have to get a box for the return, just curious? With me being in Canada, how do you avoid the dreaded customs or is that exempt in this situation because the items are not a purchase? The thought of discounts is getting me excited.

Thanks

My Silver Eclipse 6 speaker cables arrived today !
Thanks Ivan ! You're the Man !
They look very well made.
Burning just started on the 2301's....
Straight out of the box, they sound a bit lean, but they are more refined and detailed than the 8TC.
The bass has more texture and reverberation. Something I did not expect.
They already sound very good.

Jerome, they will go from lean to mean and in-between until about 100 hours, at which point you will be grinning. At about 200 hours you will be gleeful.

Congrats! I love mine.
