Default There's a New Dodge Charger—But What Happened to the Challenger?

`
Motor Trend since 1949
3/6/24

"Dodge has unveiled its next-generation muscle cars, and they all live under the "Charger" nameplate."

> The Charger is available as a 2-door and a 4-door.

"Charger being available in two-door form, there is no specific reason to carry on the Challenger name as a distinguishing moniker."

"We've confirmed with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis what conclusion to draw from that: The Challenger as you know it today is dead. There are no plans to bring it back, at least as a distinct nameplate."

My grandfather and uncles owned a Dodge dealership until the mid 70s or so. Charger is awesome, but even at age 10 I couldn't quite figure out who would choose the Challenger instead

That 2-door looks good. Other than the lack of charging stations (and standardization), EVs are certainly better than ever.

Have you read about the new 3.0L inline 6 cyl engine and it's variants that is coming to the Charger, Jeep & Ram lineups.

N/A, turbo and dual turbo configurations about to be deployed are very impressive.
