My sympathies on frontier. They bought out Verizon at our place in the mountains and it was an absolute disaster. One of my happiest days was getting satellite internet service and terminating frontier. Works very well for us though - not like fiber in Atlanta, but exponentially better than the non performance and blatant mismanagement of frontier.

I am sorry to hear that but everyone who does this must be aware that a NAS (even with RAID configuration) requires a separate and remote back-up storage device.

I keep several and should have no problems with a NAS crash except for NAS replacement costs.

Pretty much the ongoing prices on the used market I might add.

I do the same thing just in case the internet fails.

What does the internet have to do with playing your disc rips from your own NAS?

I was without internet for over a month (except at work) So glad my R5 had DAB and CD back up. Got through loads of books as well. It wasn't unpleasant.

Agree. One can play ripped discs from a NAS without an internet connection.
