Revjelly, Welcome to the club! I upgraded from the CD8 to CD9 a couple of years ago. I can't remember the exact details of the differences between the two units, but I do remember that CD9 definitely had more details in the highs and just sounded a bit more airy. It terms of mid range, they sounded similar. The main advantage of the CD9 is having the digital inputs. I had the ARC DAC8 until I got the CD9. Rich[/QUOTE]


Thanks Rich, the 9 has suddenly come alive and is indeed giving far more detail to the vocals and instruments in the highs. Better soundstage, all very musical and wonderful to listen to.
It still needs more burn in time but is certainly making me smile!
