Tidal on aurender
Hello all Aurender/tidal users, question. I recently downloaded the latest update
and noticed the new category "Masters". I chose a few titles and see that it comes thru at 48 kHz. on my Mcintosh C2600. Am I receiving MQA or do I need a special MQA receiver to get the full effect. I have a N100H Aurender. Thanks for any insight, Paul |

You are receiving the MQA file from Tidal and that is why the Mc shows 48khz. If you play the MQA file in your computer using Tidal, then the new Tidal software can partially decode the file to a resolution of 24/96. However, since you are sending the MQA file directly to your MC, then Tidal is NOT decoding the file. And since your Mc is not capable of decoding MQA files, then you are ending up with a 48khz file and no more.

Thanks nicoff, I guess I will wait and see if Aurender puts out an update that will decode
or see what hardware is entailed. I see know there is lots of discussion already out there and will educate myself by reading up. Thanks again |

Aurender has a new product (DAC) called A10 that is capable of decoding MQA files.
