Default A poll of sorts...

Ok, you have 501's/single box Mc PRE AMP and love them....(like many of us)

You have 15K to spend on an upgrade...

What is a more worthwhile upgrade?

1.2K's Used?

C500/1000 Pre amp Used?

Thoughts... comments????

I would go for C1000 pre Used. That should give you a nice upgrade.

+1 - I vote for the C1000 - having the system fully balanced does make a difference

Stephen.......I would buy the walnut PMC EB1i's that klipschfan has for sale, and still have $5800 left to play with. Use the MCD500 and Sonos with the MC501's, and store the rest of it for now.

More music software, professionally spec'd and installed acoustic treatments, the new MEN-220. Pow, you're done!

I'd go with the C500, because then you'd have a very nice 500 system (MCD500/MC501's/C500). You would have about $8,000 left over to buy some nice full range speakers if you get room for them.

+1 !
But if you want to spend these 15k on electronics, then go for a C1000.
Going from 501's to 1.2kW won't make a big difference compared to upgrading your preamp to a C1000.

Cheers,
Jérôme
