[QUOTE=two dot;36044]
In a word INCREDIBLE!!! I can honestly say that I have now heard Eva Cassidy and Shelby Lynn in a way I never thought possible. QUOTE] Two dot, I'm glad to hear your TB2i are getting better and better. PMC are speakers to be happpy with for a very long time. When I hear a speaker, the question I'm asking myself is always, closing my eyes : " could I be in a jazz club right now, a small concert hall like there are so many in Paris, Seattle, NY and so on, an be listening to that pianist, that singer etc... ? " With PMC speakers, the answer is almost always " yes ! ". While some other great speakers make refined and enjoyable sound, PMC goes farer : it puts you in front of the scene, as if you bought a ticket to a concert. They are more neutral than most of the speakers I've heard untill now. They don't make the sounds nicer or fuller than they are. ( ProAc, which I love too ). They don't make you listen to details you will never hear in a real concert, and just distract your mind from listening to the music itself ( analytic speakers : I won't mention brands here not to offend anyone ) : they just put you in the middle of the artist's performance. Cheers, Jérôme

Jerome,
Just to clear things up... the speakers that I am now listening to and raving about are a "loaner" pair from PMC, the OB1 (though, not the new i version) As much as I have been loving the TB2i's these OB take it to a whole different level. The midrange is to dye for and the taller cabinet, creating a great length of transmission line, create a MUCH fuller more realistic bass. These speakers might not have the lowest bass that I have heard but it is without a doubt some of the"truest" and most "tuneful" bass that I have heard. |

Sorry for the mistake Yes I noticed this was about the OB1, but I stayed on the great opinion you have on your TB2i. For sure, floorstanders have a more realistic sound. If your room is big enough, you should absolutely go for them !

Dan,
You are one crafty dude!!! I really want to go for the EB's... but am ALMOST afraid that they won't sound as good IN MY ROOM as the ob's.... If they sound THAT MUCH better than the ob's I would order them in second... Decisions. |

Stephen.......You don't have anything to worry about the PMC EB1i's being too large for your room. My 12' x 17' room with an 8' ceiling works very well with them. Write the check, and bring them home. This will not be a purchase you will regrete.

Stephen.......I am thinking that the way you like to throw power to your speakers on a regular basis, and rock music is the main source, the PMC EB1i's would be your best bet, primarily due to their ability to handle the big amps up to, and including the MC1.2Kw amps. The EB1i's will be keepers for years.
