Pete.......This is good. People always talk about how expensive audio is, and how difficult it is to find anything at a reasonable price. I thought this exercise might give us the opportunity to look a little deeper for something on a $50 budget, like something you could ask for as a gift, and perhaps actually get it.

Dan is the credit through Legend Audio ? If yes and you don't have the Mcintosh book " for the love of music" you may want put the $50 toward that ( the book is actually around $100); it makes a nice coffee table book . You could also put it toward a nice set of Mcintosh drinking glasses or coffee mugs or shirt.

David.......Thanks for all the suggestions, but I have actually spent my $50 on a digital stylus scale that will be here by the end of this week.

I don't need the For The Love Of Music book. I have been living McIntosh history since 1967 when I bought my first pair of MC30 mono amps, and I have read all of the rest. I already own the McIntosh coffee mug, a McIntosh engraved rosewood ballpoint pen displayed in a McIntosh laser engraved rosewood presentation box, two McIntosh lapel pins, a McIntosh Mag Lite flashlight, two McIntosh lighted signs, a McIntosh black and gold decal on the window that separates the recording studio control room from the studio, and two McIntosh ball caps. I think I'm good in the memorabilia department.

What I was hoping to discover is what you would do with $50 spent on a single audio related item. If you need me to, I could lower that to $25 just for you.
