What Really Great Movies or Shows Have You Streamed/Downloaded Lately
Network and cable television have gotten so crummy that I find myself turning to my Roku, and streaming movies or television shows almost every night.
NetFlix and Amazon are my first two choices and the catalogues of shows and movies they provide are mind boggling. Last night I watched the last two episodes of season 1 of the original NetFlix production "HOUSE OF CARDS", which is certainly worth watching. I hope this thread catches on and many of you will tell what you have watched and make a comment or two if you feel so inclined

I could certainly use information from this thread - it would be great to download movies on the ship, but I think our LAN restrictions may keep me from doing so.

Recently VUDU'd "Red" with Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman & Mary-Louis Parker (Weed) and really enjoyed it. It's a fast paced, slightly unbelievable but entirely enjoyable.
Can't wait to stream Red 2!

+1 to RED. Light hearted and campy. Just a "for fun" romp.

If you can get this through your cable company, you are going to enjoy it Julian:
Very good script, humour, drama, wonderful image and sound, good music score. Excellent acting.

We've seen it and really liked it. It is available from both NetFlix and Amazon (Prime) for "free" streaming to your HD television.

We have also enjoyed streaming the first several seasons of Mad Men - and will continue seeing more. (NetFlix & Amazon)

I tried watching Mad Men but just could not get into it.
For those who enjoy Downton Abby another series they show on PBS is "Call The Midwife". We even hooked out teenage granddaughter on that one. |
