Would you know if they are JJ brand, Golden Lion, Sovtek ?

How does one access em ?

How many is being used for the linestage only ?

Linestage only is 6 tubes, 3 per channel.
Far as I know, McIntosh doesn’t reveal the source of the tubes, either Russian or Chinese.

Jason.......A friend at McIntosh told me their tubes are sourced from JJ Tubes and branded with the McIntosh logo. They no longer use any Chinese tubes.

if one is not using the phono stage of the MM/MC section of the C1100, is it possible to remove the tubes so that when just using the linestage the phono stage tubes wont get used up ? is there such a thing ? thanks.

Good question, if not using phono section, be nice to remove tubes not being used

Thanks Dan, that is good news. JJ Tubes are a well respected brand. May be the reason why I have no reason to swap out the stock tubes. My C1100 paired up w/ a pair of MC601s you know well is an outstanding combination.

Default Can C1100 be run through RoomPerfect of MX160?

Hello all. Just installed my new C1100 and am wondering if one of the outputs of the C1100 can be run through the MX160 to use the RoomPerfect and Voicing EQ curves? Most of the time I prefer to run the signal straight through to my MC-501s but certain titles could benefit from some EQing.

I currently run the two together in home-theater bypass mode - front L/R balanced output channels of the MX160 are run through balanced input #6 of the C1100 and the trigger cable is connected to put the C1100 in bypass mode when the MX160 is turned on. So effectively any time the MX160 is on, the C1100 can't be controlled.

Is there another way to connect the two to accomplish what I'm looking for?

Default McIntosh’s Flagship C1100 Tube Preamplifier....

I’ve been scratching my head on this one as I have a similar setup with a C1100 and MX 151.

If your source has two outputs, (ex. single ended and balanced) you could simply run one set to the 160 and another to the C1100.

Then you could simply select the source on the 160 when it is on and get all the goodness of room perfect, etc. You would set up the trigger outputs for these audio only inputs so the surround and center channel amps wouldn’t turn on.
