D1100 with MB100 as preamplifier

Considering I use digital sources 95% of the time , thinking that the McIntosh D1100 + MB100 would give me better sound than the McIntosh C52?

Have only seen couple of reviews so far on D1100 but wondering if anyone here using D1100 as preamplifier instead of stand alone DAC?

I use it as a preamp and it's awesome.

I also use the D1100 as a preamp with the MB50. It's a great combo.
