David......By then the question will be, can you reach the remote control without a walker.

Talking

You guys are killing me!

I don't doubt that Mac gear is addictive. But my finances are really, really tight (kids in college, business stinks, yadda yadda), so this will be my last major piece of kit purchase for at least three years. I know that's sad, but, really, I am loving what I am hearing out of my system right now.

The C220 is growing on me the more I listen. Over the weekend, I listened to some stuff that was downloaded at low bit rates (I know, the horror, the horror! ). I was expecting the C220 to lay bare how awful it sounded, but it was actually pretty good! Sure, there was no air, limited soundstage width and a somewhat "digital" sounding treble range, but it was listenable. The vocals were surprisingly natural.

I will be focusing on minor improvements - cables, tubes, fuses, isolation, etc. for a while. I am already in the process of ordering new feet for my turntable. I'll be lurking and occasionally posting, though.

Congrats !
My pseudo tells you where I come from.
I started with a 275 then I added the 220 4 months later.
It is a great preamp !
My signature tells you where I am now, thanks to AA !
Yes, here at AA, we are very good for spending each other money ! Beware !
