Default Guarneri Homage, Memento, Evolution

I've owned the GM for 8 years. Would like to try the other Guarneri.

Most people who heard the GH vs GM/GE prefers the original. On the other hand, a minority prefers the newer generations.

For my ~13' by 13' room, which will be the better choice? I can't make up my mind

Tommy.......I loved my Sonus faber Guarneri Memento speakers. I was able to up their performance to a new level when I added the Bryston 10B Sub active crossover and a pair of McIntosh XLS112 powered subwoofers. By routing frequencies below about 60Hz to the subwoofers and off the GM's mid-bass drivers the Guarneri Memento's lower midrange developed greater clarity and additional dynamics. The GM's mid-bass drivers begin to roll off quickly below about 48Hz. Relieving these drivers from struggling with the lowest octave dramatically improved the frequency range they were designed to handle. The Guarneri Memento speakers with the Bryston 10B Sub active crossover and the two XLS112 subwoofers delivered an excellent full range experience that was realistic and faithful to the recorded performance.

I read your review several times, Dan. Thank you. However, I'm not into adding subs. It gets too complicated.

Actually I did considered GM plus a xover with subs too. That would have been ideal but I just don't have the room for subs, with an additional crossover also cost much more and it gets a little complex. I would have lean more towards this option if it's in a larger room.

So in the end I opt for GE and in a relatively small room I didn't miss a bit on the low. After a number of years I am still happy with it. Whatever works best for you and take your pick!
