Here is the best article that I have read explaining crypto currencies and block chains. Great read.

few people got rich and the rest of the late entries are paying for it.
In my opinion a ponzi scheme, or am I wrong here

Cryptocurrencies

Early miners do have an easier way to earn coins (or tokens). The article explains that and also why blockchains can play a large role in the future of the internet. |

Bitcoin is block chain. Block chain is not necessarily bitcoin. Block chain will be tool in the future, but the cryptocurrencies seem like a ponzi scheme. Why not trade in sea shells? There is no intrinsic value to the cryptocurrencies. I sort of understand fiat currencies, but with 1300+ cryptocurrencies, this is not going to work out well.
