At least it wasn't a metal plate with rivets - as done by many dealers in the 60's and 70's!

This morning, driving on the 3 lane interstate, heading the other way than the rush hour traffic . It's extremely light & quite unusual. Who do I spot coming up on my left side, in the fast lane. A 2017 Corvette, black on black (exterior/exterior). Hauling ass in a 70MPH limited area of the interstate. Suspect he was doing 85+. I punch the Honda Ridgeline, and reach his right rear corner panel. I can sense he sees me in his right side mirror. The challenge has been accepted. I hit the oxygen switch and floor the accelerator pedal of the 2017 Generation 2 & I'm off -- it pushes me backwards, head feeling like it's about to explode.

He definitely got the idea, and we are hitting 95 and going strong. I double check the oxygen switch -- yep, it's on. He punches it, almost like his rear wheels break traction and I'm hitting 3 digits on the digital center panel. He screams ahead and is hitting probably 130 and I'm around 108.

I flash my high beams once to signify I concede, had fun, take it easy, and see you again.

I slow down from the 3 digits & am at a comfortable 78MPH. I select the oxygen switch to off. It was fun, both of us passed 1 car which was in the slow lane doing 65MPH. Lasted about 3 minutes, maybe 3 1/2 max.

P.S. My 2017 Honda Ridgelines' oxygen switch feeds a 1/4 inch tube from a oxygen concentrator located in the rear trunk, set with pulse flow settings of 1-9 and continuous flow settings 0.5-3.0 LPM to the driver to address the overworked adrenal glands extreme push of adrenaline in anticipation of a race about to happen . Whose going to win & whose going to lose.

No high and mighty intended here but I would never race a Honda Ridgeline with my Grand Sport.

My wife and I went and looked at a Z06 tonight. Thanks God the dealership couldn't get the car out to do a test drive! It was looking sweet!

The true joke here was the tube feeding the driver from the oxygen concentrator. No one seemed to pick up on that -- it doesn't exist of course. The rest is true -- whether you would or wouldn't doesn't matter -- it's in my past & checked off my bucket list. That's what matters.

Well played Bob! I had a 12 hour drive from SC to PA yesterday and found myself wondering why the hell someone would use an O2 concentrator when Nitrous Oxide is probably better.

However, my experience with the 24hrs of LeMons racing has taught me to never underestimate what can be done to a motor vehicle.
