2017 Honda Civic Type R Sets World Record on the Nurburgring
That beats a slew of Porsche, Lambo, BMW M3, Ford GT, Ferrari, MB AMG, Audi R8 V10, Pagoni Zonda.
Butt ugly, though. "The 2017 Honda Civic Type R clocked a time of 7 minutes, 43.80 seconds on the Nordschleife, setting a new record for a front-wheel-drive production car." ____________________ http://www.automobilemag.com/news/20...C04C74EF2C098B ___________________________________ https://nurburgringlaptimes.com/lap-times-top-100/ .

This Nurburgring record setting is becoming so ridiculous. I never heard anyone buy a car because it was fast on a track (otherwise we'd be all driving Radicals).
The guy who is thinking about getting a Pagani is not going to buy a Honda Civic instead... And the guy who buys a civic thinking he can compete with a Ferrari is missing the point. |

It also influenced me with my current 2013 Camaro ZL1 which I do take to the track. 7:41:27 at the Ring in 2013. |

Hmmm, is it so fast and stable in the slow corners that it's able to recoup so much time?
It is not that fast in the straights as the big hitters. The max I saw was 260 Km/h. It reminds the current McLaren F1 that is so much slower in the straights, so even if it does well in the slow corners, they loose all the time when not turning.
