I must say I have lost my taste for camping. Too primitive.

I can tell you I wouldn't want to do it for a night but for several days it's fine. The work is packing, setting up doesn't take too long. My wife and I can have it set up in about an hour. Also, I only do this when I'm doing some kind of Jeep expedition; otherwise, it's a nice hotel or resort.

Yup, my latest obsession. I pretended that I was Ivan and over built - I hate for things to break!

I'm a happy camper! No haven't camped for 20 over years. Past it.

Top 3 notable trips. All tent accommodation:

1. 3 weeks cycling entire South Island of New Zealand.
2. Ayers Rock & dingos scavenging in the campground.
3. Tumut Power Station, Snowy Mountains trout fishing.

I'm not a camper, but I do enjoy the beautiful scenery, surfing AA, istening to music, eating great meals and watching movies in my little setup.

The problem it seems with RV's or camper camping is - are there any great spots to go? I mean, if you are on a packed dirt or paved slab with hookups etc, is that really wilderness? Can you really explore? Indeed, do we really have that much wilderness left except for a few huge national parks outside Alaska?

It would seem you need to backpack to get to true wilderness.

I can explore AA in the Airstream. Does that count?
