Sorry Charles, I don't understand the logic here, but we can leave it at that.

BTW, the M9 weight is 1000 lbs (no need to guess it's published). It is mainly CF not aluminum, and it does ship in several parts.

That is exactly what Charles indicated. He was pondering what the M9 "would" have weighed had they stayed with a aluminum design and not moved to CF.

Marsalis, As I understand it, the "several parts" weigh an additional hundred pounds per speaker. The M9 itself weights 1,000 lbs. I would be more impressed with the M9's claimed weight savings if, due to the new cabinet technology, the weight had been kept to 750 lbs, same as the all aluminum Q7. This 1000 lbs does not even include the woofer to mid bass crossover.

I dont know how you can knock a speaker design for not having rear ambience drivers. It's not the magico MO.
