Reference Cable all the way?

Hi guys!

I'm started to look up some wireworld cables, and have been recommened Silver Eclipse Power cords for my both mc501's. I will prob use Aurora for the sources. But here comes the question.

Since I drive everything via my MIT Powerbar, Do I need a silver eclipse cable for that one too or is it AFTER the powerbar the wireworld cables is supposed to do their magic? Will the Silver Eclipses to the MC501's be in vain if I don't go all the way?

You will be fine with just the Silver Electra's down stream of the MIT Powerbar.

I also run my entire system off a passive power conditioner. I put the best power cord on the power bar so every component benefits.

Hopefully this is not OT, but if I run all my gear behind an Exact Power line conditioner, why would I need fancy power cords at all?

If you use a power regenerator that produces perfect sine waves (ie. Exact Power or PurePower), then a "fancy power cord" is not very critical as long as it is of adequate gauge.

A quality power cord will provide improvement when installed after the power conditioner, not so much difference when installed before the power conditioner...

Not to be a contrarian here, but actually, if you talk to Caelin Gabriel, the former NSA scientist who founded Shunyata Research, he will tell you that the most important cable is the one from the wall to the power strip. His recommendation is if you have more expensive PCs and less expensive PCs, put the best one as the cord from the wall to the power strip or conditioner. For example, if you have a Shunyata Python (an $1100 higher engineering spec PC), and the rest are Venom (a $99 cable), use the Python from the wall to the power strip/conditioner, then the Venoms your components. For his products, he recommends a good 20 amp power cable and his Hydra conditioners all utilize a 20 amp IEC jack. But you will get synergistic benefits from good PCs exiting the power strip as well. My guess is David Salz from Wireworld would give concordant advice.

I see from your signature you use WW Stratus 5 cords. I am considering those (and others). How do you find them, and what type of plug do they have (typical YC-12, etc.)?

I have found that a good PC works before and after the PPP. I use an Anaconda CX before and Python CX to the source and processor. Switch any of them back to the stock cord and you hear a change. I like the water analogy... you put the fattest pipe first and they can get smaller as you continue down the line as long they are adequate ga for the component..... what always gets me is that I am putting a 7ga cable after a 12ga line in the wall.

I have two Tripplites chained, and the one into the wall (HT1012ISOCTR) is 14AWG; the voltage regulator plugged into it (LCR2400, which most of the equipment is plugged into) is 12AWG. I think maybe I should put the LCR into the wall .
