And ARC, after years without, now has auto-bias on the VT80SE Foundation Series amp and on the new REF 160M. No more bias adjustment necessary, whoopie!

Heck. Bias setting is half the fun of owning tubes!

But I get the auto bias. Especially the older I get. Now in my sixties and with my disability it gets really hard to get down on the floor to do it. However I still love inserting the screwdriver in my amp and making those little tweaks (non ARC amp).

I prefer to check and adjust the bias myself. That way I know it is done right. With auto bias, I would just worry about it failing. Checking and adjusting bias is very simple these days. It just seems to me like they are trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
