I've been currently using my VX-5 20 with my SF Amati Futura and find it a great match; in fact more so than my ARC Ref 75SE. I am presently auditioning a pair of Ayre MX-R 20s in my system which are a stunning match with my Amati Futuras, IMHO. The Ayre MX-R brings out the best in my Amati Futuras and the extra power and finesse is welcome.

The Ayre sound profile matches perfectly with the SF speakers as RLF has posted. Just opens them up better than most amps I've heard them with. Bigger sound stage and more precise/accurate. Personally, tubes with the newer SF speakers is just too much for me. I like that neutral sound and as has been posted, the extra drive is a welcome addition. Heard a few different SF's in the 30k up range with the Ayre Ref gear and they sounded excellent.
