Doesn't look like the brand is represented in the USA so would be totally off the radar at AA. Also considering how much local product the Americans have in this space.

Are there dealers in Australia?
Hi Steve, yes having previously owned Solid Tech (which are excellent in their own right), it was a remarkable difference stepping up to the Taoc racks.

You made observant points about Taoc's distribution in the US (and by extension exposure on AA). I wasn't aware of that, but then again i'm just a punter. The local Distributor in Australia for Taoc is Absolute Hi End who are great to deal with

Cheers,

Been trying to get additional shelves for my rack but only one dealer in North America and they are in Canada. I bought some parts from him last year but no response on my recent request.

Maybe it's time to move to a rack made of wood.

I built my own, quite a bit cheaper. It's 3 inch maple shelves with 1.25 inch rods. Of course it does weigh about 300 pounds without the equipment even on it lol. I did however buy an extra 12ft section of rod just in case I need to build some mono block shelves in the future

Then welded a spike to a nut to screw on the bottom

I love this! Where did you get your maple blocks, rods, and spikes? Do you by chance have any pictures of the building process. I know it looks pretty simple to replicate but I really like this rack and might give it a try for a small office system.

Well it was actually not really a DIY in full, more a parts gathering project. I bought the blocks from Kobiblocks. The shelves are 26*20*3 with 21" between rods. Kobiblocks end grain wood with them drilling the holes and beveling the edges - $380 free shipping I called them to do the custom order and they gave me the discount to make it so cheap. I also talked to them about the weigh of equipment and what I was doing, they laughed when I asked if the shelves would hold together under the weight.

The rods came from http://www.jandesupply.com but its a local place in OKC so not sure about the shipping issues, I would check around your area for oil field suppliers. I had to buy them in 12ft sections but they cut them down for be to the sizes I needed then gave me the fall away. Washers were purchased at tractor supply. Total cost of nuts, rods, and washers were $218

Spikes were Dayton Audio DSS4-BK Black Speaker Spike Set 4 Pcs set from parts express for about $30. These come with the spikes and a stem screw that goes down into the spike and protrudes out. I took the stem out, went to Lowes and purchased a regular bolt with the same thread pattern. Since brass does not weld very well I purchased a washer that had the same size hole as the diameter of the bolt. I then welded the washer to the big nut that screws on the 1.25" rod. Dropped the smaller bolt through the washer and screwed the spike on from the other side if it, thus locking the spike to the 1.25" nut. Then I just screwed the nuts to the big rods to give me the spiked footing. Do take care to center the washer on the nut before welding.

Total cost for the project was about $630

This could be done much cheaper if you used thinner rods, wood, etc. but then it wouldn't have the awesome mass that it does.
