Default 45 RPM adapter custom made

I had a very nice surprise gift arrive in the mail today. Danny (dhizzle) was kind enough to make me a custom solid aluminum 45 RPM record adapter. It is beautiful, and polished like a jewel. It fits the spindle on on my Micro Seiki DD-40 turntable perfectly, and the outer diameter is perfect for the 45 RPM records. I played a 45 RPM single by Matt Lucas - Shack It to test it out. Danny is a true craftsman on the metal lathe, and my new adapter is a perfect example of his skill.

Danny.......Thank you so much. I remember a long time ago I commented in one of your threads when you first showed us the 45 RPM adapter you made for yourself while visiting your father, and I posted that I'd like one. I never thought you'd take me seriously, and I am flattered you remembered me when you had the opportunity to work with the lathe again. I couldn't be happier with my new 45 adapter. What a great surprise.

Dan the 45 adapter looks like it was meant for your table.

Danny you are a true craftsman, that looks like really nice work. Wish I had those skills.

You are welcome Dan. Thanks for the nice comments.

I was out in the garage working on a mini bike with my dad. We had a 69 Honda 50 mini trail that I used to ride around the yard when I was a little kid. He still has it and was fixing it up to use as a pit bike at the Drag Strip. When I went out to the garage, he had the motor out and we where figuring out how to hot rod it up a little. He has a spare Honda 70 motor that he is going to take the jug and piston from to put on the 50.
While I was out there, I saw the scrap piece of aluminum I used to make my adapter and decided to make another.
I always enjoy getting to work out in the garage with my dad. He is the true master craftsman. He can make about anything out of a piece of metal and the fit and finish is always absolutely perfect. I learned a lot from him out in the shop but I am very far from is level of skill. I have no idea how he learned how to do some of the things he can do, like fabricating the front and rear suspension on a drag car from scratch while getting all the different geometries just right. He doesn't even have a computer, smartphone, or Internet access.

I'll try an post a picture of the bike, if I get a chance.

Danny.......Thanks again. I'll have that 45 RPM adapter for the rest of my life. It's a keepsake.

Now that you've told us about the hot rodding of the Honda 50 to a 70, be sure to keep us posted on that. Maybe a new thread with photos as the project progresses.

Here is a picture of the Honda. This pic was before we swapped out the jug and carb from the 70.
Also, the Super Pro Bracket car my dad built. Very unique and the fit and finish is excellent.
