Next Power Protection Upgrade
I would like your opinions and recommendations on upgrading my outlets (2) and my power conditioners.
Currently (no pun intended ) I am using standard outlets. My biggest issue is that they probably will fail under the load they are subjected to and they fail to adequately grip the prongs on the power conditioner cords. So I'd like to upgrade to something better. At the other end of those outlets are two Panamax M5400-PM power conditioner/power surge protectors: We've apparently had a few surges in the past and they have performed well, protecting the equipment, but both have lost some LED's on the front and I suspect that the units may have been stressed enough that another surge or two will render them ineffective or they may fail completely. My only basic requirements for these boxes is that they are black and have at least 8 outlets, voltage regulation, high current outlets for amplifiers, coax protection and LAN circuits. Any and all recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks!

I strongly recommend a whole house surge protector to stop as much as possible BEFORE a surge reaches any outlet. I installed this one:
