Did you get your Connect modded? How do you like? I've had a W4S modded ZP-90 (now called Connect) for a while. I got it when I had my MCD500. I did a lot of careful testing, spinning disc in the MCD500 and listening to the same file streamed from the modded Sonos ZP-90 into the MCD500 digital coax input. I ripped the files in FLAC format using EAC. Most of time I could hear no difference between the two. When I did, I preferred the Sonos. I also checked to make sure the Sonos was bit perfect by streaming a DD5.1 track and making sure it was decoded correctly by my pre/pro. It was. So the assertion that the Sonos system is lossy is not correct. You do have to set the output volume to fixed to get bit perfect playback. Tom
