Nice to read that this saga has a happy ending.

Default Great news Madfloyd!

Ian,

Thanks for sharing the update on your Sashas. You worked really hard to get them right in your media room and I was following your progress with much interest. Glad to hear that you are finally enjoying them in the larger room.

Regards,

Dave

I'm in shock at the difference. I must have spent 10k on room treatments in the basement. There are none in the family room (although to be fair the bass is not as good).

What humbling learning experience...
MadFloyd - Thank you for the update! I know that this issue has been difficult for you. I am happy to hear that your story has a happy ending to it!

May I ask: Now that you are in a different room, did you switch the resistors back to stock, or did you keep the modified resistors in?

I haven't switched the resistors back just yet. I have the -.5 woofer resistors in there which require soldering and the -1.5 tweeter resistors which I can change easily. I'm not finding that I'm missing the highs, but I will try going back to the stock tweeter resitors to hear what happens.

My wife didn't enjoy the speakers when they were in the media room (at least for music), but she loves them upstairs and won't let me move them back down - She suggested buying another pair for downstairs!

It will be interesting to hear your impressions when you play around with the resistors. Let us know how it goes.

When it comes to room placement: I was actually the opposite - I liked our system in the media room compared to upstairs. The media room is a much better room acoustically (since it was built around being a media room) compared to upstairs which is a very hostile room – open to the kitchen area with vaulted ceilings and tile throughout most of the area . However, I have thought of putting Duette’s up there. Hostile placement (they would be in nooks) and rooms was the focus when they designed the Duette.

I must say, I do like the way your wife thinks! A woman after my own heart!

Happy listening!

Debby
