Hi,

Both the O/93 and O/96 are the same height. The O/93 sit on 1/2"~ tall wooden feet that are not easily visible via the photo posted on my site, so no spikes needed.

In the November issue they mention that they listened to the O/96 and were impressed , and that they have a vintage vibe and will be doing a full review in the December issue. Why do they say the 0/96 has a vintage vibe;what is vintage sounding about them?

Well I look forward to reading Art's commentary and comparing it to my amateur review. For reference, I put together a review back in January, or so, outlining my impressions. You can find it referenced elsewhere in this thread (see post#3) on a blog I write about getting lost in analogue over at word press. In any event, I love these speakers, and look forward to John's "premium" version! Right now I'm enjoying them with a pair of Shindo GM70's. The bass..., oh the bass!

I would say they are using vintage vibe to first describe their appearance. The wide baffle is not commonplace today, as Art fully explains. I am sure it's also because the 96's sound natural, and IMO, just so RIGHT. I have had a few more expensive speakers, in the last several years. I won't mention names, but I'm not looking in my rear view mirror. That's a testament to the 96's being a great fit for me. Last night it was Sinatra, Grateful Dead, Ruggeirio/Ricci on Speakers Corner, and Dave Brubeck. Other nights, it's Joni Mitchel, Eva Cassidy, Tim Buckley, Led ZEP.... All good choices in music are always engaging. There is also an interesting manufacturers comment by Mr. DeVore, toward the back of the issue. I would take the vintage vibe comment, read the review, but most importantly, go hear em. Cheers!

Thanks Plink. I may be able to offer some meaningful comment over Thanksgiving weekend. For now, I'll just say they "glow"....

Lesmarshall- Did Art's review put you a little closer to joining the 0/96 club. You have never mentioned your system here, unless I missed it. What would you be running in front of the 96's. Cheers !

I joined the 0/96 club about a month or two ago;running them with a Masseto and a pair of Lafon GM 70s; loving them.
