I am a huge fan of using 5 channel to achieve ambiance. But all too often, I am plopped into the middle of the band and it is unnatural. YMMV

Hence, my vote for well set-up 2 channel, which achieves the sought after ambiance.

I recently tired of my 5.1 surround sound set up. With that in mind, I made the move for 2 channel set up and at this point don't think I will go back. Love what I have...

I too prefer two channel for music, but that is far from the reason why.
