2 channel set up right does give 5 channel a run for music!
For music only:
Once 2 channel is set up right, you get the sound anchored in the front, and between the speakers like an actual (center speaker). The walls act like reflectors (Subtle surrounds). It's like an act from god, as sound comes from what seems to be nothing. Although, I like the immersion of 5 speakers and the feeling of being in the band on some sacd's. Example: Dark Side of the Moon I can see why Some prefer 2 channel only. I am lucky to have both systems as they are quite different. The Elipsa's help, putting out a giant sound-stage in my room. I never think "it would be nice to have a center speaker, as it seems like the center is there. A beautiful thing!

Depends. With DSOTM, there is no reality, so whatever floats your boat in terms of effects is just fine. After listening to the mch DSOTM a few times, I stopped being impressed with the surround effects and found I could enjoy it equally well in stereo.
OTOH, if you listen to real-world performances and compare stereo with good multichannel, it is clear that the spurious, if interesting, contributions of listening room acoustical effects are detrimental to accurate and, to me, satisfying reproduction. It may just come down to the type of music and the type of experience you prefer.
