Default How to remove Ethanol from Gasoline

It's no secret that smaller/older/2-stroke engines don't like Ethanol additive.

Here is how to remove Ethanol from Gasoline if you can't find Ethanol free gasoline locally. Easy. https://youtu.be/HdDEL7WLN5U

Interesting video. I can get ethanol free recreational gas here for the boat and all the small engines. It makes a big difference in how well the boat runs.

Unless the engine was specifically designed, has fuel injection and a computer to compensate for ethanol, it runs better without it. Most motorcycles, older cars and small engines in general do not. Carbureted engines need to be rejetted properly to compensate.

What stared as a clean air act and once they discovered MTBE toxicity, Ethanol was the next best choice. When it became a big boost for corn farmers... well, now we will never get rid of it. https://www.agupdate.com/tristatenei...8549f724c.html

“The gasoline that fuels your car is actually 10 percent ethyl alcohol, or ethanol, and that fact has had a profound impact on America's farming landscape. As ethanol use increased over the past 15 years, dozens of giant distilleries — known, more respectably, as ethanol plants — appeared in the country's corn belt. Feeding those distilleries is now a full-time job for roughly 35 million acres, or 55,000 square miles, of corn fields. Offhand, I can't think of a single agricultural product that exceeds the scale of ethanol.

Corn farmers love the ethanol boom, the way any manufacturer loves a big customer. Many environmentalists, on the other hand, despise it. Ethanol is often called a renewable fuel, because you can grow that corn year after year, absorbing carbon dioxide from the air in the process. But growing all that corn for fuel also means more soil erosion, more water pollution, and it can even force the clearing of more land to grow things that people actually eat.”

Putting energy supply in competition with our food supply is a bad idea any way you look at it.

The corn belt is in deep doo doo this year too. We could be on the precipice of a food crisis, the people in the know are saying.

It was a bad idea from the get go. Someone thought we were running out of petroleum sources and that they could also solve a problem with poor profitability amongst our hard working farmers.

The key point for me is that it is a false economy which will likely fail.

The US has a large reserve of crude oil and now perhaps equally important, natural gas, which is a huge strategic advantage.

Interesting that most of the quotes in the article panning E85 are from The American Petroleum Institute. No conflict of interest there.
