Default Aurender and Qobuz stateside

It looks like Qobuz may enable their hi-res Sublime+ streaming service in the USA some time this year, featuring Hi-Res 24-bit FLAC up to 192kHz. I certainly hope so. I am anxiously looking forward to an alternative for Tidal.

Curious about my Aurender N10 and N100H being able to stream Qobuz when available, I emailed Aurender Customer Support earlier this afternoon. I asked if I will be able to stream Qobuz on my N10 and N100H music servers? Will an update to the Conductor app allow Qobuz streaming with the same application integration as Tidal?

Aurender's response: We already have Qobuz streaming enabled in territories where the service is provided. So, if/when it is launched stateside, we will not have any problem adding it on…It should be a fairly turnkey operation!

That's awesome. The MiND app on my 280D looks like it's ready to go too!

The more people that use Qobuz when it launches the better! I hope it's a success.

Looks to me the only option to access the 24bit/192 recordings is opting for Sublime+ level which they offer at 349 Euro/per year/one time payment. That's about $430 US. Unless they change the US rates of course.

Shame it isn't DSD right?

Tidal $240 a year vs Qobuz at $430. It would almost be worth it just not to support Jay-Z or Sprint. No MQA required should make some people happy.

Re-looked at pricing and it's 20 GBP for CD Quality FLAC.

So if they do $20 for the same thing in the states you get CD quality for the same price as Tidal. So if you don't do MQA or want more than 44.1 then you'd be good to go.

With the music industry brining in about 35-40% or revenues they used to not too long ago, before the CD sales started slumping, you better believe MQA will be a bandwagon most labels will want to hop on. It is another source of revenue for them to offer their music in MQA now and collect whatever they can from that. Musicians also need to get paid. It's not exactly what it used to be, not as easy to monetize their music when everyone expects FREE music these days. No one buys CDs, many listen to music on youtube which pays artists/musicians a fraction of a penny, that's right, .006 cents per youtube click. Radio stations pay a different license fee and it's not a great source of revenue as many musicians give their music out for free to radio stations to promote it.

I'm all over this when it happens.

Thanks for the update.
