But the Aida's that came up on AA (and have been seen and heard by a friend of mine in California - they are legit)......have me thinking hard about stretching my budget. Probably just a pipe dream though.

I can't do anything for a couple of months. In the meantime, I'm seriously enjoying my Mementos for now, they sound terrific and that has helped ease the itch.

Got it & yes, I do understand. Personally, I'm in the minority and prefer the Strads to the Aidas (which I heard in Boca a year ago?? though not in an A/B environment).

Good luck on your speaker quest.

Best sir,

Bob

P.S. They are spelled Raidho.

Raidho....right....got it. Roof height in my room might be an issue for those bad boys. Definitely no 4.1's. I have my (realistic) heart set of the Q5's...but I must hear them first. Lots of folks pointing me in the direction of the Raidho's though too.....and although I'm not a big Wilson fan, I do want to hear the Alexia's. I heard they are outstanding.

There are a lot of great speakers out there Mike -- it's sooooo hard to choose. Not one of them sucks.

Best sir,

Bob

Bob... Not for nothing, but I have yet to hear anything in that store that sounded good.

What did you prefer in the Strad's to the Aida's?

I know this is an old thread but it is one of the Strad threads I found.

Do you guys feel like the Strads are revealing of the upstreams or do they have such a sound of their own that they sound the same with different amps, preamps, sources?

The reason I ask is because I listened to the Strads for the first time about a week and a half ago and they were probably the best sounding transducers I have heard (and this was right after I heard the Aida's next room over). It was run on a full Chord system and sounded organic.

I have a full Cary system and was wondering if the Strads were revealing enough to engage the differences between two different upstreams/systems.

Thanks!!
