Fuses Audiophile quality
Ok just like highend power cables, anyone replace their stock fuses with silver fuses or fuses from HIFI-Tuning?
Wonder about results, testing reviews etc. I would think since it is in the circuit that it may offer a gain in overall quality? thoughts, links reviews results any body Last edited by djwhog; 04-29-2011 at 02:13 AM. |

I've read where people swear by the high-end fuses like: *insert name of your favorite brand here*
I've tried one of the brands in two sets of speakers, and a preamp. I was very hard pressed to tell any difference whatsoever. |

Dave.......This subject has been debated several times here. Do a search on fuses and you will find plenty of reading.

No diff on my end, either, but then I just got done arguing with a complete idiot on another forum telling me that one outlet was going to "transform" my system too.
at $25 each, it's a harmless tweak, but I couldn't really hear a thing. |

Again, 30 bucks isn't a huge pile of money flushed down the toilet, but as Wilson said on an episode of House once, "I'm a cancer guy, chances are I'll find cancer." Tweek guys will always find another miracle tweek. There is no substitute for good gear, properly set up in a decent room. (and great software goes a long way) I've never found a piece of wire, an outlet or a fuse to TRANSFORM anything. A noticeable difference, yes. Icing on the cake to an already good system, of course. Just like setting up a race car, every bit of attention paid to detail in setup will achieve benefit, but to think that just swapping a fuse will make that big of a diff in your system is wishful thinking. |

"Transform" means, depending upon your dictionary, "to make a thorough or dramatic change in the form, appearance or character of something." So the description could apply, depending upon what the reviewer heard and his perspective. But "transform" does sound a bit extreme to me. |
